Planting
To plant
trees, shrubs or roses in open ground using Mr Muck's
organic horse manure compost, dig a hole at least double
the size of the pot or root-ball. Add a good thick layer
of the manure into the hole then place the root-ball in
the hole so that it is at least 3 inches lower than it
was in the pot. Replace the soil around it by hand while
mixing in a good quantity of manure around the roots.
Finally,
firm the soil around the root ball to ensure no air
pockets remain and water well. Continue watering on a
regular basis until the plant or tree is established.
Roses
Use
2-3inches (5-7cm) of manure around roses all year round to feed roses during the fastest growth period
in the spring/summer. This will also suppress weed
growth reducing loss of nutrients from the soil and
minimise the work of weeding borders. Through the summer
the mulch will retain moisture and protect the soil from
drying from sun and wind movement.
Hanging
baskets, tubs, troughs, urns & window boxes.
Mr Muck
organic horse manure compost is ideal to use due its
high retention of water, high nutrient value and good
physical stability.
Mix
together thoroughly half manure and half soil or
compost. Fill containers and
water well. Do not allow the compost to dry out and
ensure containers are kept moist.
